Jack Fincham Withdraws from Boxing Match Due to Injury
Jack Fincham Postpones Boxing Comeback Due to Injury
Jack Fincham, known for his appearance on Love Island, has had to withdraw from a scheduled boxing match owing to an unfortunate medical issue. The 33-year-old reality star shared this disappointing news with his followers through social media, accompanied by a medical assessment highlighting the injury.
After experiencing shoulder instability and a labral tear, Fincham made the difficult decision to postpone his return to the bare-knuckle boxing ring, choosing health over competition. The injury requires him to undertake a 10-week rehabilitation programme, delaying his highly anticipated bout against fellow fighter Luke Bassnett in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
Despite this setback, Fincham reassured fans that his commitment to compete remains strong. He emphasised that the fight is merely delayed, not cancelled, stating, "This fight will happen but at a later date." Fincham also noted the risk of exacerbating his condition if he were to fight now, which could jeopardise his boxing career permanently.
Since his Love Island victory in 2018, Fincham has dedicated himself to bare-knuckle boxing, seeking a new career path following personal struggles including a period in rehab and homelessness. Training in the light heavyweight category, he has made significant strides in the sport, which has become a key focus in his journey towards personal and professional redemption.
Fincham's foray into boxing has been well-received, with him gaining a reputation in the sport, driven by both his history as an amateur boxer and his passion for the fight game. Recent years have not been without their difficulties, however, as Fincham has faced legal issues, including a suspended sentence for traffic violations while under the influence.
Despite these challenges, Fincham's dedication to the sport has helped him regain fitness reminiscent of his condition at age 24. As he navigates the recovery and rehabilitation process, Fincham remains optimistic about returning to the ring and proving himself a formidable contender in the bare-knuckle boxing arena.
For now, Fincham's priority is ensuring he heals properly, preventing further injuries that could threaten his ability to fight. Fans will have to wait a little longer to see Fincham back in action, but his focus on recovery signifies a responsible approach to both his health and career longevity. With a new date to be set, enthusiasts of both reality TV and boxing eagerly await his comeback.
